Mural Nomad hand painted chair and tapestry
Hello everyone!
I am beyond thrilled to be joining hundreds of other women/nonbinary makers this Saturday at Fair Market in Austin Texas for the bi-annual Fall CraftHer Market by BossBabesATX. I am also celebrating Hispanic Heritage month and giving 25% to RaicesTexas!
I am so lucky to have been welcomed into this community when I first moved to Texas in 2017 - BossBabesATX has been a wonderful resource for me as a new woman entrepreneur and it has fueled my will to keep moving forward with Mural Nomad.
When I first moved to Austin two years ago I was finishing my studies at DevBootcamp and trying to switch careers, I was very overwhelmed and not getting much response from potential employers so I decided to start selling my drawings and artwork for the first time in my life. I had been drawing most of my life but was never interested in the 'selling' part of the process because unfortunately I was disenchanted by the concept of being a 'working artist' who makes work to live and survive.
This time was different, I was on the move to switching careers (from being a designer to being a developer) and my focus was not on selling but to get myself to draw and think beyond the paper, to explore new processes and techniques, to see my drawings grow into something else and to keep my mind off looking for work in a male-dominated field...
Mural Nomad has been thriving ever since - it is still very young but thanks to the support from friends and art lovers out there I am still here experimenting with new ideas all the time. From tapestries to scarves, to acrylic paints on chairs I am excited to show my latest at this fair that highlights people like me, who are making cool things and keeping their dreams alive!

Come see us!
