Hello
My name is Lina, I'm a Colombian designer, self taught engineer with a passion for abstraction, dogs, art and books. I'm currently based in Austin, TX ðŸ¤
I started Mural Nomad as a project to stay creative, solve problems and keep asking questions. Mural Nomad is about drawing as a practice, and a necessary, inevitable part of my life. I have always drawn, usually to analyze, respond to, reference, copy or simply make marks I need to make.
My work is very personal, and has been made by hand in my home.
Here you'll find all my drawing work such as digital paintings, experiments with different mediums and augmented reality explorations.
Welcome to my studio!
why i draw
Curiosity
I've always loved to draw, layout colors and elements in space, to imagine a story of something that might be there, but we just can't see or we just don't notice. Drawing is a way for me to stay curious.
Abstraction
I'm interested in blurring the line between figuration and abstraction. Figurative drawings are too realistic and fully abstract works are too abstract. I like to find a sweet spot between the two.
Process
I love exploration of other mediums. My two main picks are hand drawing and drafting and computer generated art (photoshop). I'm a designer and that is how I treat the elements in my drawings. Currently I'm exploring acrylics, blender 3D, augmented reality drawing, and clay sculpting.
